Digital Collections Summer Internship

Description:  The American Pomeroy Historic Genealogical Association (, a not-for-profit corporation in Syracuse, NY, promotes interest in and the study of American history through genealogical research; preserves the heritage of the American Pomeroys and their allied families by conducting research, collaborating with other researchers, and providing access to the results.

Responsibilities: The APHGA is seeking a summer intern to assist with an ongoing project to digitize, create metadata and enhance previously created metadata for an extensive photo collection used in support of genealogical research. You will be working with a family history collection making a significant contribution.

Qualifications: Knowledge of best practices in metadata for photographic images. Excellent computer skills and commitment to accurate, high quality work. Good communication skills. Familiarity with ACDSee photo software is a plus. We prefer a currently-enrolled college student or recent graduate in a history, library science, archives or museum studies program.

This is a paid position at the rate of $10/hour. Full-time or part-time.
