Henry Charles Pomeroy (1849-?) was the son of Watson Young Pomeroy and Ann Eliza Kellogg Pomeroy. At the age of 15 he joined the Illinois Cavalry, fighting for the Union Army during the Civil War. Henry married Mary Elizabeth Brewer 24 Jun 1873. Henry was an inventor who lived for a time in Chicago, IL. He patented the following versions of the "Gem Set", a riveing and stamping devise, in the early 1900s:
- 1900 - Received patent for a "Combined Riveting and Punching Machine"
- 1902 - Received patent for a "Riveting Machine"
- 1905 - Received patent for the "Gem Set"
- 1906 - Received patent for a "Hook and Eylet Setting Machine"
- 1909 - Received patent for a "Seal Press"
It does not appear that Henry and wife Mary had children. We do not know when and where Henry or Mary died, or where they are buried. If anyone has this information please contact us.
