Pomeroy Anvil Monument Construction

Below is a montage of photographs showing the constrcution of the Northampton Pomeroy Anvil Monument.
Our thanks to Dana Morrisette of Granite Industries of Vermont, our photographer.

The granite we've chosen for our monuments is Barre Grey and China Black. We currently have two different sizes of monuments.
The smaller monument is 5'8" tall, 5'4" wide at the base, 3'4" deap, and weighs over 6.5 tons. This is the size of the Sandusky, OH and Northampton, MA monuments. The larger monument is 7'1" tall, 6'8" wide at the base, 4'4" deep, and weighs over 13 tons.
This is the size of the Pompey, NY monument.
