Mary Ann Coe was born 8 Jun 1790 in Ballstown, Saratoga Co., NY, the daughter of Ithamar Coe (1755-1826) and Sarah Ball (1763-1826). She was baptised 2 Oct 1796 in the Paris Religious Society, in Paris, Oneida Co., NY. Mary Ann moved with her parents from Paris to Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY by 1803. (Records indicate that father Ithamar was received into the First Congregational Church in Pompey from Clinton Settlement, Oneida Co., NY on 1 April 1803 and was named Deacon 8 May 1805.)

Spencer Pomeroy was born 3 May 1780 in Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA, the son of Pliny Pomeroy (1734-1804) and Sarah L. Allen. Spencer moved with this parents to Westfield, Hampden Co., MA about April 1804. Pliny Pomeroy d. 12 Nov 1804 in Westfield. Spencer later moved with his widowed mother and younger siblings to Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY by 1806 (mother Sarah Pomeroy was received into the First Congregations Church from Westfield on 4 Jul 1806).

Mary Ann married Spencer Pomeroy 3 Mar 1807 in Pompey, NY. The couple had two children:
1. Francis W. Pomeroy, b. 12 Aug 1807 in Pompey
2. Edwin Pomeroy, b. 10 Oct 1809 in Pompey

On 7 Oct 1811 Spencer Pomeroy and wife Mary Ann sold 3 acres on lot 65 in Pompey, NY to Spencer's mother Sarah Pomeroy, for $500. Sarah sold that property to her son-in-law, James Higgins, on 15 Aug 1812, for $250.

Sometime between 7 Oct 1811 and 31 Dec 1822 Mary Ann left Spencer and moved to Huron Co., OH.

On 31 Dec 1811 a notice was published in the Manlius Times stating that Spencer Pomeroy was an insolvent debtor whose case was being handled by Victory Birdseye.

On 16 Aug 1824 Mary Ann Pomeroy's suit for divorce from Spencer Pomeroy in the Huron County Court was discontinued. On 6 Jul 1825 Mary Ann Pomeroy bought a parcel of land, part of lot 6 in Norwalk, Huron Co., OH from Edward Petit. She later purchased additional adjoining property from the heirs of Edward Petit on 28 Jul 1826. On 11 Sep 1826 Mary Ann Pomeroy was named in her father's will, to receive $3. On 12 May 1827 Mary Ann Pomeroy's petition to the Huron County Court for a divorce from Spencer Pomeroy was published in the Norwalk Reporter. (Mary Ann claimed that her husband Spencer abandoned her and their two children towards the later end of 1811 and she accused him of adultery and lewd behavior.) On 9 Aug 1827 the Huron County Court dismissed Mary Ann's petition for lack of jurisdiction.

On 12 May 1828 Benjamin Junkins and wife Mary Ann sold the front half of lot number 26 in Norwalk, Huron Co., OH to John V. Sharp for $150. Continued in "Mary Ann Coe, Wife of Benjamin Junkins".
